Jut a quick mechanics question:

I wanted to know if his damage is considered range or melee.... after all he is an elementalist, but he does not use normal attacks on you unless he stands right next to you. I need to know as I am trying to design a better 55er build to solo him and this effects one of the skills.

an ele uses elemental dmg....like his spells....and there staves r w/e dmg they r holding i.e water staff=water dmg fire staff=fire dmg and wand attacks or staff r considered range

right, but he won't attack from range... he stands right next to me and attacks... if i walk away he follows... is he using something else??? that isn't normal ranged attack behavior..., I suppose i'll have to test

They probably have pbaoe or touch spells like starburst,etc... and water staves produce cold damage and it's probably cold damage since he's ice beast

The ice beast uses melee attacks as do quite a few caster monsters. not sure if he deals elemental damage or physical damage with his attacks bit its easyto test with 4 mantras

it is melee damage, BUT using water damage meaning that physical damage negaters will not assist you

@stretchs, elemental damage is no big deal, I just needed to know if it's melee or not... and yes... testing it is the next step... didn't wanna go thru the effort of acquiring skills, if it wasn't even gonna have a chance at workin tho...
